Nintendo of America announced a delay for the Super Mario Bros animated movie by Illumination. The film was pushed from December 21st, 2022 to April 7th, 2023 in North America and April 28th, 2023 in Japan. This is what Shigeru Miyamoto had to say via the official Nintendo Twitter account:
This is Miyamoto. After consulting with Chris-san, my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. film, we decided to move the global release to Spring 2023–April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America. My deepest apologies but I promise it will be well worth the wait.
