Multiplayer brawler Bare Butt Boxing announced for PS4, PS5, Switch & PC

Tuatara Games announced Bare Butt Boxing, a new multiplayer brawler for PS4, PS5, Switch & PC via Steam! The game launches first for PC via Steam Early Access in Q4 2022. The full release follows up on consoles and PC in 2023. Check out more details and the announcement trailer below:

VANCOUVER, Canada — March 22, 2022 — Bare Butt Boxing, the comically chaotic multiplayer brawler from AAA visual effects studio Tuatara Games, holds a heavyweight bout on Steam Early Access for PC in Q4 2022, followed by a 1.0 release across PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in 2023.

Revealed moments ago during The MIX’s 10th Anniversary Showcase, Bare Butt Boxing represents the self-published debut from the studio, which has provided VFX support for games like Valorant, Godfall, Fortnite, The Ascent, and Solar Ash. Mesmerized by the sport of boxing, mischievous aliens visit Earth to mimic their favorite fighters, unaware of Earthen laws and traditions—and most of the rules of boxing. For these cheeky newcomers to the sport, some things were lost in translation, so prepare for clothing-optional, trap-ridden boxing rings in the farthest corners of the planet.

Romp around in 6-player free-for-all brawls in colorful locations across the globe. Line up the perfect charged punch to send friends sailing across the stage, or into other fighters for chain reactions of damage. Rise to glory in local and online multiplayer across many arenas set in vibrant cities, lush jungles, and intergalactic spaceships.

Think with your butt, but also your head: traps, pitfalls, and other silly hazards strewn across every level can spell an instant KO. Dash for power-ups like electric fists to shock and stun, sticky bombs for explosive repercussions, and invulnerability. Deck out characters with cool customizations unlocked solely through playing and stand atop the leaderboards, leaving no ifs, ands, or butts on who’s the champ.

A party brawler at heart, Bare Butt Boxing allows players of all skill levels to compete. Careful strategies can win the day, but a lucky hit from any player can start a chain reaction of chaos and frantic joy, putting a smile on even the most battle-hardened fighter.

“Bare Butt Boxing is our ode to the games we loved growing up and the people we loved playing them with,” said Klemen Lozar, founder of Tuatara Games. “We hope players will park their butts on the couch, in-person or in spirit, and remember those all-nighters that were pure, chaotic joy with friends and family.”

Bare Butt Boxing beams down to Steam Early Access for PC Q4 2022, followed by the full release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in 2023. Check out Tuatara Games’ portfolio and stay up-to-date on the official website or by following the studio on TwitterYouTube, and Discord.
