As spotted by OatmealDome, Nintendo Switch Online – Nintendo 64 update 2.0 is out now for Switch with some interesting fixes. First, the fog has been restored to the infamous Water Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Over the past couple of updates, it appears that Nintendo was further improving the emulation of Nintendo 64 games. Ocarina of Time’s Water Temple was used by players to gauge Nintendo’s progress with fixes to the service. Users reported that fog found in other N64 games were implemented as intended with the new update.
There should be plenty of fixes across all the N64 games currently present in the service. Unfortunately, Nintendo did not share patch notes on all specific bug fixes and changes. Paper Mario also received a major fix addressing game crashes when a player dies with Watt as their partner. Update 2.0 fixes this issue so players won’t have to worry about more game crashes with Watt. Lastly, Nintendo Switch Online – Nintendo 64 update 2.0 released moments prior to the addition of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
