PlayStation Now cards to be pulled from global retailers

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that PlayStation Now cards will be pulled from retailers worldwide. These cards have reportedly been pulled from several US and Canada retailers over the past month. Additionally, Sony announced that the cards will be pulled from retailers in the UK starting January 21st. In a statement sent to VentureBeat, Sony stated that the company will instead focus on their PlayStation Network gift cards:

“Globally, we are moving from PlayStation Now gift cards to focus on our current cash denomination PlayStation gift cards, which can be redeemed for PlayStation Now.”

Sony did not comment on rumors of a new PlayStation Plus tiered service that may include PlayStation Now. However, it’s likely that Sony indeed has plans for PlayStation Plus considering their renewed stance on subscription services.
