E3 2022 will be an online-only event due to coronavirus concerns

Although the ESA was pushing for an in-person event in 2022, E3 2022 is shifting to an online-only event. The coronavirus pandemic is still ongoing and with the current omicron variant, the ESA determined that its best to keep E3 online once again. Here’s the statement shared to GamesBeat:

“Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022. We remain incredibly excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon.”
