Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition gets a new update on Steam, removes Games for Windows Live

A surprise update was released by Bethesda today for Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition on Steam! Update 1.7.0.4 finally allows the game to launch and removes Games for Windows Live software from the game. Check out the patch notes below:

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition has been updated and no longer installs Games for Windows Live dependencies. If Fallout 3 was previously installed on Steam, we suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the title.

The title no longer requires Games for Windows Live and will now launch.

Players on PC should be able to launch the game without issues upon updating and relaunching the game. Lastly, a 60% off sale for Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition is live on Steam until October 26th. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest gaming news and updates!
