Inti Creates revealed a brand new game in the Gunvolt series, the apeX of 2D action! Gunvolt Chronicles gets an unexpected sequel as Copen returns to star in another action-platformer. Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 releases on January 27th, 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Steam. This is also the first time the Gunvolt series gets a simultaneous release across all current platforms!
According to the Japanese official website, the PS4 and Switch versions will be sold physically and digitally. The Xbox versions of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 will be sold digitally only. Digital versions across all platforms cost 2,980 yen or $25. Standard and limited editions will be available with all copies receiving COGEN: Sword of Rewind collaboration DLC! The DLC features new bosses and more details are coming soon. Physical standard and limited editions cost 3,980 yen ($35) and 9,980 yen respectively. The limited edition comes with the following:
- Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 physical copy (PS4 or Switch)
- Vocal CD
- Music Video DVD
- A4 Clear File drawn by illustrator Yoshitaka Hatakeyama
