Tales of Arise is set to be a huge title for the franchise. Both older players and newcomers alike are encouraged to try out the newest game next month. Producer Yusuke Tomizawa knows this and discusses this with Japanese fans on Twitter. Tomizawa fans to bring in new fans with new games to expand the audience while introducing them to games that brought the series forward. He wants to create a “virtuous cycle” of games where remasters complement new games for both old and new fans. Here’s what he had to say, courtesy of DualShockers:
“People often say we need to re-release past games to increase the number of new players. Just doing that isn’t enough, or else the Vesperia re-release would have increased the fanbase. We first need a brand new game that’s friendly for newcomers. And of course, I want to do re-releases on top of this. Creating a virtuous circle to bring in new fans.”
Fans will need to wait a while though as Tales of Arise releases on September 10th worldwide. Any development of remasters in the series could take years to develop similarly to Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. In the meantime, stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
