Falcom announced today that a TV anime project for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel series is in the works. Companies involved in the project include UserJoy, Funimation, SYOU, and NADA Holdings. The anime is planned to air in 2022 and more details will arrive at a later date.

*Update* More details have surfaced thanks to Funimation’s interview with UserJoy, one of the key companies involved in the new anime project for Cold Steel. According to the company, they’re making a new game with Falcom based on the anime’s storyline. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel anime is not a one-to-one conversion of the series’ events. It takes place in the continent of Zemuria but involves a new “never been told” story. Fans can expect characters from across the series to show up. Lastly, more details are available here.
