Phil Spencer talks about his experience playing Elden Ring, says it’s Hidetaka Miyazaki’s “most ambitious game” yet

In an interview with GameSpot, Phil Spencer shared his thoughts about From Software’s upcoming game, Elden Ring! Although the game has gone quiet, Spencer “actually played quite a bit of the game”. He couldn’t share much of the game in development, but says it’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki’s “most ambitious game” yet. Here’s what he had to say:

“As somebody who’s played all of Miyazaki’s games over at least the last decade, this is clearly the most ambitious game that he’s done,” he says. “I mean, I love his games, but seeing some of the gameplay mechanics stuff that he’s tackling, he and the team are tackling this time, of the setting, working with another creator in terms of story. I love it.”

Spencer goes on to say that Miyazaki is “expanding his horizons” in game development. Funny enough, Miyazaki had to leave the room Spencer was playing in because he thinks he’s a bad player in the game! Elden Ring has been off the radar for a while but hopefully some more good news comes soon. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news and updates!
