Talks about Minecraft being in Smash began “at least five” years ago according to former Mojang business developer

Published:

Former Business Developer, Daniel Kaplan revealed that talks for Minecraft appearing in Smash started at least 5 years ago. These talks would have begun the first year after Smash Bros. 4 for Wii U and 3ds were out. It just goes to show that these talks for these highly requested gaming icons doesn’t happen overnight like some may think.

Steve and Alex from Minecraft don’t have a release date quite yet, but they Director Masahiro Sakurai will have “Sakurai Presents” on the two on October 3rd. The presentation will start right before Minecraft Live at 7:30 am PT / 10:30 am ET.
