SEGA is aiming for higher quality Sonic games with longer development time

Sonic Forces released in 2017, marking two and a half years since the last 3D Sonic game. Its been a while since we last heard of a 3D Sonic game and SEGA’s Aaron Webber has cleared up why this is the case. According to Webber, SEGA knows that quality of the past 3D Sonic games wasn’t where “it needed to be” due to rushed production. A few years ago, the development teams have agreed to “put more time into things as they go forward” which is why there’s been years of absence for 3D Sonic games.
