Another cancellation has struck and its reached Comic-Con, one of the biggest entertainment conventions in the world. Comic-Con 2020 is officially cancelled and people who purchased badges will be able to obtain refunds. If fans want to attend next year’s Comic-Con, they may transition their 2020 badge to a 2021 badge for free. Emails with more information will be sent in the coming weeks. Lastly, here’s the official statement from San Diego Comic-Con, courtesy of IGN:

“Recognizing that countless attendees save and plan for its conventions each year, and how many exhibitors and stakeholders rely upon its events for a major portion of their livelihood, they had hoped to delay this decision in anticipation that COVID-19 concerns might lessen by summer. Continuous monitoring of health advisories and recent statements by the Governor of California have made it clear that it would not be safe to move forward with plans for this year.”
