    Rumor: Resident Evil 8 will release for current and next gen platforms in 2021, first-person game like Resident Evil 7

    The latest rumor comes from VGC and reported by IGN, stating that Resident Evil 8 is coming in 2021. The game releases for current and next-gen platforms next year according to the rumor. In addition, Resident Evil 8 features “more serious departures” from the mainline series. In an interesting tidbit from VGC, the 8th entry in the mainline series was originally planned as a third Resident Evil Revelations game. The feedback given to this Revelations game then pushed by Capcom to become a mainline entry. Lastly, the rumor states that Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan Winters returns for the 8th game.
