Due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus, Nintendo of America’s online stores aren’t taking physical orders for the time being. Nintendo is prioritizing safety of employees as well with stay at home work instead of on site. Another factor in this decision is the delay of production, with Switch and game shortages happening often. Lastly, here’s the official excerpt from Nintendo courtesy of Nintendo Everything:

Due to preventive measures put in place for COVID-19, and in accordance with federal and local guidelines, our fulfillment centers are closed and we are unable to take orders for physical products until further notice. Digital products are still available for purchase. We apologize for any inconvenience.
