    Switch reaches 12.8 million units sold in Japan, officially outselling the Wii’s lifetime sales in the country

    The Switch has reached a major milestone in Japan as it has now surpassed the Wii’s lifetime sales in the country! The Wii reached 12.75 million units sold in Japan and this week, the Switch has reached 12,801,222 units sold. Its a huge achievement for Nintendo as its been nearly a decade since a home console of theirs has reached such a success in Japan. In addition, the Switch moved nearly 400,000 units (combined Switch and Switch Lite) in Japan for the opening week of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
