    Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Direct Info Recap

    The Animal Crossing: New Horizons direct shared a massive amount of info for the game. Its time for a recap to showcase all the important features coming to the game on March 20th as well as in the future!

    Animal Crossing: New Horizons expands upon player customization and options than never before. The player is sent to a deserted island as part of Nook Inc’s Deserted Getaway Package. In the game, players may:

    • Set down a tent for their new home
    • Build new furniture and items, each customizable in their own way (patterns, etc.)
    • Capture bugs, fish and fend off creatures like wasps, scorpions and spiders
    • Explore other deserted islands for items
    • Hold up to 8 players in one island through multiplayer
    • Make friends and reserve new homes for more friends
    • Reform terrain to your needs and more!
    • Experience all 4 seasons and their unique environments
    • Use a Nookphone
    • Scan QR codes for designs from previous Animal Crossing games

    Resident Services provides some of the features above along with purchasing items and crafting. Players may craft a large variety of items just like previous entries in the series. New Horizons adds more customization with each craft like setting patterns.

    A ton of new facilities are coming to New Horizons as well including:

    • Museums
    • Aquariums
    • Nook’s Cranny
    • Able Sisters’ Tailor Shop
    • Campsites and much more

    Mystery tours provide players with more explorable locations thanks to Dodo Airlines, lots of unexpected encounters are sure to come. You may even stumble upon ghosts and nighttime may be treacherous. However, such expeditions may yield some great rewards. Exploring other player’s islands may be rewarding as well if they are a best friend. Animal Crossing: New Horizons expands the friends system by:

    • Setting limits on what friends can do in your island (friends and best friends)
    • Allowing up to 8 players as previously mentioned (including 8 on a single Switch)
    • Party play with up to 4 people
    • Being able to invite them via the game or Switch Online app
