Persona 5 Scramble producer Daisuke Kaneda states that the game’s story may be enjoyed without having played Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal

Persona 5 and the Royal version are only available on PS4 but Atlus and Koei Tecmo are bringing the sequel, Persona 5 Scramble, to Switch. This action RPG’s story may still be enjoyed by players even if they haven’t played the previous two Persona 5 titles. Here’s Kaneda’s excerpt from the Nintendo Dream interview:

Kaneda: “Yes, I think those who have not played ‘P5’ or ‘P5R’ will be able to enjoy the story. ‘P5’ has expanded into anime and manga and such, so it’s not just limited to the game. If players have a general understanding of the story through those mediums, I think they’ll be able to enjoy this sequel even more.”

Lastly, Persona 5 Scramble releases on February 20th for PS4 and Switch in Japan. A western release date is unknown, but the game should release sometime later this year in the west. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest Japanese gaming news!
