With season 6 upon us in the PUBG universe, the test servers have opened up for console gamers to try out the brand new map Karakin along with new additions such as the gliders and sticky bomb.
Karakin is a 2×2 km island off the coast of Northern Africa. It’s an arid, rocky environment that provides wide-open terrain and challenging engagements. It’s small, fast, and dangerous: Expect the tension of Miramar combined with the pace of Sanhok. Maximum of 64 players can play on Karakin per match. Players should expect long distance rifle engagements in the mountains, tactical urban conflict, and claustrophobic underground combat. And with the introduction of the Black Zone, Karakin reveals its twist: a map that’s layout changes every match.
Black zones are like red zones, but won’t keep you safe inside buildings, as buildings could be destroyed leaving your heart racing hoping to survive the encouter. The black zones are designed to push players out of the safety of a building. If you hear the siren, run if you must.
More additions to the test server include the introduction of the motor gliders and sticky bombs. Motor gliders will be on Erangel and Miramar and will automatically lift you and a passenger off the ground once you hit about 70km. These will be spawned through the maps. Sticky bombs are a new addition to breach entry points in Karakin. You’ll be able to breach floors and walls leaving your squad more options on how to approach another squad.
Console players can download the PTS server right now and try out all these new features before they officially become a part of PUBG when season 6 drops.
