Cross-play with PS4 arrives to Paladins today, expanding to more Hi-Rez Studios games in the future

Hi-Rez Studios have announced that PS4 is now added to the consoles supporting cross-play for Paladins! Paladins already supported cross-play on Switch, Xbox One and PC. More games will include cross-play with PS4 like Smite and Realm Royale. Hi-Rez Studios states that they are working with Sony to support cross-progression and cross-purchases as well. Here’s the statement from the studio:

Paladins cross-play welcomes PlayStation 4! Beginning today with the Pirate’s Treasure Update, players will be able to play Paladins and voice chat with their friends, regardless of their platform!

Currently, we will not support cross-progression (shared achievement & trophy progress) and cross-commerce (shared pool of purchased items across platforms). We are working with our partners at Sony on a solution for this. We will update the community as soon as we have more information on cross-progression and cross-commerce.

It seems that Sony is more open to cross-play between Switch, Xbox One and PS4. Another title receiving cross-play functions is Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered. We will keep you all up to date on more games receiving cross-play functions in the future. Stay tuned at Final Weapon for the latest in gaming news!
