While we know the upcoming fantasy fighter is set to release in 2019 in Japan, we were still unclear on the western side of things. Announced to be ported over the world by XseedGames, we now have confirmation by Famitsu on their twitter account that the game will indeed be launching in 2020, all over the globe.
As of right now, it seems like the Playstation 4 will be the only platform to get this game but this could change in the future if said game meets enough success.
Granblue Fantasy is a Japanese role-playing game developed by Cygames for Android, iOS and web browsers, which first released in Japan in March 2014. The game is notable for reuniting music composer Nobuo Uematsu and art director Hideo Minaba, who previously collaborated on Final Fantasy V (1992), Final Fantasy VI (1994), Final Fantasy IX(2000), and Lost Odyssey (2007).
It gained a pretty big fanbase over the years with over 23 million recurrent players, an anime and manga adaptation, a console high budget jrpg developed by Cygames and now a spin-off fighting game, by no other than the masters of 2.5D anime fighters themselves, Arc System Works.
So if you weren’t already playing the mobile game, will you be jumping into the massive granblue fantasy universe with Versus or will you patiently be waiting for Granblue Fantasy Re:link, the console jrpg?
