Someone at THQ accidentally leaked entire Darksiders 3 DLC inside the game.

Game development is an extremely difficult and tricky environment, one that is definitely not immune to human error, even some of the most hilarious ones. We have often heard of leaks and rumors, but actual unintentional leaks INSIDE a video game might be a first, if not one of the few rare cases.

User Dragonfire9000 on Reddit, reported recently a…strange event that occurred, to say the least after an update for Darksiders 3.

“So I’m not too sure how many of you are in the same boat.

I have the Season Pass for Darksiders 3 and this afternoon my Xbox just downloaded the second DLC, however I don’t think this was actually meant to happen on THQ Nordics side as the introduction cutscene seemed unfinished, there are no new achievements and the final confirming fact, when you enter the DLC, floating in mid-air is the text “start point for DLC2”.

I think someone mixed up an update and the actual DLC in an unfinished state, there no background layer textures are missing, hard-line textures are still there (the things that indicate were something should be.)

there are gaps in the scenery and it suffers from major pop in were entire chunks of the environment just appear out of mid-air.

Hopefully, someone at THQ Nordic gets wind of what happened and issues a fixed notice… soon….”

He claimed after receiving an update that literally leaked the entire second DLC in a less than unfinished state.

For context, THQ announced two main DLCs for their Legend Of Zelda / Classic God Of War inspired franchise, Darksiders 3. While the first DLC dropped recently, the second DLC, named Keepers of the Void was not supposed to release THIS early. Therefore, Reddit user Dragonfire9000 got access to a whole new area with missions, story content, and puzzles.

Darksiders III is a hack and slash action-adventure video game developed by Gunfire Games and published by THQ Nordic for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, released November the 27th, 2018 with a still rumored Nintendo Switch release.

Hey i'm Jeff, people just call me Storm but anyway, I've played games all my life and while PC gaming is my little baby, that sure ain't stopping me from still playing on consoles. I play my Switch a lot and overall i'm a huge fan of franchises such as Smash, Gravity Rush, Devil May Cry, NieR, Witcher and more recently Xenoblade! Writing isn't the only way for me to express my love for video games as I also do art, I'm currently attending my second year in concept art and 3D modeling.
