Infinity Ward seems to be continuing the trend of going back to Call of Duty’s roots. With the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, you’ll see the return of the killstreak system. Infinity Ward took to the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Twitter account to announce the news.

As shown above, killstreaks will be returning along with some new ones thrown in the mix. You’ll have the classic Juggernaut suit coming from a care package, but White Phosphorus and an Assault Vehicle are differing abilities. This should be sure to offer some new tools for players to mess around with. More about these killstreaks will be revealed during the multiplayer gameplay reveal.

This is the first time we’ve seen killstreaks come into a Call of Duty game for the past nine years. The last game to use them was Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 which truly feels like an eon ago. If you’re looking to return to that time period though, it looks like Infinity Ward is looking to do just that. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’d like an early glimpse though, the multiplayer gameplay reveal will occur on August 1st. You can watch that here.
